There is a huge need to teach individuals with autism to ask wh-questions, as current interventions typically only focusing on the answering process. Having the ability to ask wh-questions is a part of being a competent communicator.
Dr Ostryn has developed the ASKED program which teaches young children with autism to learn to ask questions in the natural environment using an explicit model of teaching and contrived motivating operations (to motivate the children to ask the question).
We are always looking for individuals who would like to get involved with our research and learn new skills (there is no charge for this research opportunity):
We currently have openings for:
• Young children with autism to learn wh-questions
• Schools, Classrooms, or Care Centers that would like to host a program
• Individuals who would be interested in running a research study
